A Few Hours in and We are Excited!

After doing  some media interviews this morning, I am now transfixed on my computer screen watching all these tweets coming in by the second. Tweets in all different types of languages and from all different parts of the globe. I am also told we have already raised “thousands of dollars”…..and we have just begun.

Recognizable tweeters so far include Mayor Miller, Michael Ignatieff, Steve Rubel, Rachel Sklar, Mark Evans, Howard Lindzon, Unmarketer, Susan Ormiston, Mat Wilcox etc. Also interesting to watch is the huge number of people calling out for the largest tweeters like Ashton Kutcher, Oprah and Ellen DeGeneres to help spread the word. How great would that be!

I am becoming addicted to the refresh button. Every time I hit it I get to see another whack of tweets. I really can’t believe this is all happening. Two months ago this whole idea was a dream and now it is a reality thanks to all of you!

With only 3 hours sleep I still feel like I could run a marathon this morning. I am so full of adrenaline and hope and pride and nerves and nostalgia and amazement. I need to keep reminding myself that a million is still a long way away but we have gotten about 250 tweets closer in the time it has taken me to write this blog post J.
